It can be difficult for students to maintain the grades necessary to graduate, particularly when juggling jobs and extracurricular activities. While this work load can at times be overwhelming, students should commit to attending classes.
Being fully engaged in the lesson and lecture is also important. Students retain more information if they are actively involved in conversations or activities that are a part of the lesson. They should also take advantage of any classroom resources (online notes, videos, and articles) the professor provides, which can help them better understand academic content.
Outside of class, students should study at least 2 hours for each hour spent in class, including time spent studying on the weekends. While taking breaks is important, a few hours on the weekend will help information remain fresh in the mind.
In the end, college can be a hugely rewarding experience. However, without good classroom and study habits, making it to graduation can be a struggle.
